Privacy policy
Dry Rabbit helps you discover alcohol-free drinks, places, events, and community. This policy describes information handled through dryrabbit.com and the Dry Rabbit iOS and Android apps, which are run by DRY RABBIT LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company. The Terms of Service cover the rest of the rules for using Dry Rabbit.
Information you choose to share
You can browse without a Dry Rabbit profile. If you sign in with an email link, we store your email address, a record of the link we sent, and a sign-in session for up to 30 days. If you sign in with ChatGPT, we receive an account identifier, email address, and available display name to create your Dry Rabbit profile. If you use account features, we store the profile details you enter, saved places, ratings, follows, posts, comments, photos, plans, alerts, business claims and campaigns you choose to make. If you vote on a shared plan without an account, we keep the name you type with your votes, where anyone with the plan’s link can see it, and a random code in a cookie on your device so you can change your votes.
A newsletter subscription or the merch launch list uses the email address and name you provide; the two are separate, and joining one never signs you up for the other. The waitlist for paid placements on the For venues page keeps the business name, email, placement and note you send, only to tell you when paid placements reopen; it doesn’t sign you up for the newsletter either. The contact and privacy forms use the name, email and message you send. A merch order uses the name, email, phone and shipping address you give at checkout.
Posts and public profiles may be visible to other people. Private profiles and follower-only posts have more limited visibility. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in public posts or photos.
When you help improve the guide (a place you suggest goes live, a correction we apply, a photo we approve, or a “still serving” report a later check agrees with), we record it to give you points and badges on your profile. Only you see your points and badges. If a place you suggested goes live and your profile is public, its page says “Found by @your-handle”. You can turn that credit off on your profile at any time, and it never shows for a private profile.
Ask Dry Rabbit and other AI features
Messages you type into Ask Dry Rabbit are sent to Google’s Gemini AI model to understand your question; the answer comes from Dry Rabbit’s own listings. We send the message and, if it isn’t the first question in that search, the filters Ask took from the question before (such as the area, the kind of drink and a price limit). We never send your name or email. Searches made only with “Adjust filters” aren’t sent to Gemini. We keep limited usage records to run and protect the feature: a search’s filters are deleted about a day after the search ends, and the usage records after six months. Please don’t include personal or health details in these messages.
In the Community, the Dry Rabbit account may reply to a member’s first post or to a question nobody has answered. To write that reply, the text of the post (without your name or email) is sent to Gemini.
Some features may use TypeSafe’s Jev model to read what you type and choose between options we wrote, such as a quiz result; Jev doesn’t write text. A feature that does says so where you type. Only the text you type is sent, never your name, email or account. Text that mentions health or recovery isn’t sent; the feature answers without it. TypeSafe processes the text in the United States and says it doesn’t train its models on it.
Location and device data
The mobile app asks for location only when you tap to find the closest city guide. It uses your coordinates on your device for that choice; it does not send your precise coordinates to Dry Rabbit. The app stores your selected city and unsynced favorites on your device. On the website, “Use my location” works in your browser in the same way.
Usage information
Our hosting provider processes basic request information (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) to serve pages and protect the service.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Its script reports each page view: the page’s address (without anything after a “?”), the site that sent you, your browser, operating system, device type and country, and how fast the page loaded. It doesn’t set cookies or use your browser’s storage, and Cloudflare says it doesn’t use your IP address or browser details to recognize you from one visit to the next. We see totals, never a record of you. We don’t use advertising trackers.
We count searches typed into the guide and the place pages people open, anonymously: we keep the search words, how many places matched, the place opened, which of its buttons was tapped (Directions, Menu, Tickets, Call, Website or Share), and the newsletter or link a visit came from, but not your account, IP address or device. Venues on Dry Rabbit can see monthly totals of these counts for their own listing, never anything about who made them. Searches that look like an email address, phone number or link are not kept, and these counts are deleted after six months. When you follow a Bottle Shelf link to a retailer, we count the click the same way: which product, which retailer, where on the page the link was and whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer, nothing about you. In the shop we also count which tabs, sections, products, bag and book store buttons are tapped, with the page and the kind of device, the same way. Sponsored placements are counted the same way too: a view once a visit, and a click when you follow one, so the business that paid sees its totals and nothing about who you are.
Our posts, decals and QR codes use our own short links (dryrabbit.com/go/…). When you open one, we count the click the same way, without your IP address, and give that browser tab a random code for the visit. The code is kept in the tab’s session storage, not in a cookie, and is gone when you close the tab. If, in that tab, you join the newsletter, make an account, tap through to an app store or a retailer, or place an order or a campaign booking, we record that the link led to it, so we can see which posts are worth making. That record holds no name, email, account or order number, and isn’t added to your account. It does keep the day it happened and, for an order or booking, the amount. On a day with very few sign-ups or orders, that could be matched against our own records to point to one; we don’t combine them.
When you’re signed in, the places you view, save, check in to, and whose menu links you open are recorded with your account. We use these records to improve Dry Rabbit and to give venue owners totals for their own listings; owners never see who you are.
How the information is used
We use this information to show the guide, keep your account features working, answer Ask Dry Rabbit questions, moderate the Community, handle business claims, promotions and orders, send alerts, the newsletter and order updates when you ask for them, respond to requests, keep Dry Rabbit secure, and improve it. We don’t sell your personal information and don’t share it for cross-site advertising.
Services that process information for us
These providers handle information only as needed to perform their function for Dry Rabbit.

| Google Gemini (Google LLC) | Messages you type into Ask Dry Rabbit, with the previous question's filters in the same search; the text of a member's first Community post or unanswered question when Dry Rabbit replies to it | Understanding Ask Dry Rabbit questions and writing Community replies. | TypeSafe (Jev) | Only the text you type into a feature that says it uses TypeSafe’s Jev model; never your name, email or account | Reading what you typed to choose between options we wrote. Processed in the United States; TypeSafe says it doesn’t train its models on it |

| Amazon and other retailers | Nothing from us; if you follow a Bottle Shelf link, the retailer sees your visit under its own policy | Affiliate links |
Venue websites, ticket pages, photos served by outside providers (such as Google or Wikimedia Commons), and other external sites have their own privacy practices. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Your choices and deletion
You can edit your profile and turn off alerts from your Dry Rabbit profile. Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe link. You can clear locally saved places in the app. To delete your Dry Rabbit account and associated content, use the account deletion page; the app links there from its Me screen. This does not delete your separate ChatGPT account. You can also ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct it, with the form below.
We keep account information while your account is active and remove it when you delete the account. Payment and order records may be kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, and copies of emails already delivered can’t be recalled. Service logs and our providers’ backups follow their own schedules.
Children
Dry Rabbit isn’t directed to children under 13 and accounts are for adults 18 and over. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we make significant changes, we’ll update the date above and say so on the site or by email before they take effect.
Privacy questions
Use this form for questions about your Dry Rabbit data or a request we could not complete in the account controls.
